Testimonials
“As a medical research scientist, there was never any question that we would bank our daughter’s cord blood stem cells. It was simply the best option for Elizabeth’s future health since her maternal grandmother died of multiple myeloma. Having Elizabeth’s cord blood available gives us peace of mind. For us, it’s a very small financial investment in her future. Obviously, we hope we never need the cord blood for our daughter or any other family member, but we’re secure in knowing that it’s there should there be a need. As a scientist, I also appreciate the fact that the future of stem cell therapy is bright and growing all the time.”

Enrollment in Xytex Cord Blood Bank is easy! Follow these steps:

Step One: Enroll now.
Complete the enrollment forms, and return them with your signature. You may:

  • Enroll online. Download forms now and return your completed forms by mail or fax.
  • Enroll by phone. Call us at 800-277-3210 or 706-733-0130 to request a free information kit.

We encourage you to enroll by the beginning of your third trimester to ensure that everything is ready in case your baby arrives early. In addition, make sure your physician knows about your decision to bank your baby’s cord blood and provide him or her with our contact information. We will be glad to answer any questions your delivery team has about the process.

Step Two: Collect.
Receive the collection kit, and remember to bring it with you to the hospital. Your kit contains all the materials your physician needs to collect your baby’s cord blood. Just minutes after delivery, your physician will collect your baby’s cord blood for processing and long-term storage at our Augusta, Ga. facilities. In addition, your physician will collect a sample of your blood for testing purposes.

Step Three: Call us.
When the kit is ready, call our courier for pickup to assure safe and secure delivery. Once the cord blood is processed and cryopreserved, we will provide you with two certificates of deposit with test results—one for your files and one for your child’s permanent medical record.

Step Four: Stay in touch.
We will store your child’s cord blood for as long as you wish. If you move or change your contact information, remember to keep us updated so we may contact you for renewal of storage.

If you ever need to use your child’s cord blood, simply contact us and we will arrange for preparation and safe transport of the cord blood stem cells to your physician.

At age 18, your child will assume ownership of the stored cord blood and it will become his or her decision whether or not to continue to store.
